Cutting the round hole turned out surprisingly easy with the Dremel. The trick is not to make one cut but many small cuts along the line that just go through the metal. On this way you actually don't make a circle but a polygon but there won't be any corners, at least after de-burring. With some care and patience one can make a nearly perfect circle. This hole took me about 45 minutes.
