Anatolja "Automatic" Mirunova

Automatic by Morag Deathspell

Character Description - Personal File - Stats

Physical Appearance:

Anatolja is a skinny young woman of medium height. She has very pale skin and bright blonde hair which she keeps cut quiet short at about 2 to 3 inches length. She only uses a comb or any product on her hair on special occasions - but then excessively. Her almost chinless face features a stub nose, small mouth with thin lips and slightly cleft upper lip. Her eyes are somewhat almond shaped, which gives here an Asian touch. The color of her eyes was originally a greenish-brown, but Anatolja has dyed her irises permanently in a saturated violet - the result of a lost bet during navy academy. Her face also shows several marks from removed piercings (nose and ears). She has a large tribal tattoo covering her whole left shoulder, shoulder blade and half of her upper arm and a small multicolored tattoo of a heart behind two crossed rifles below her navel. Both tattoos are of high quality.

Personality:

Anatolja is a cheerful but also capricious and flighty person. Growing up with three older brothers led to her somewhat boyish (some might say: rude) behavior. She likes to laugh a lot and astonishingly lout for a person of her build. She takes most things not as serious as she should and she definitely drinks and smokes too much. But she is absolutely reliable when it comes to anything that has to do with her main field of expertise: spacecraft engines of any kind. She likes technical gadgets and all things that are fully automated and has the reputation to be able to take apart, fix and reassemble everything that has screws in it. Rumor has it she doesn't possess even a single pen that doesn't write in at least three different colors and has at least radio, flashlight or cigarette lighter capability at the same time. Her most treasured possession is a genuine antique AK-47 assault rifle which she keeps in premium condition and takes to the shooting range every now and then (as the ammunition of this antiquated weapon is no longer manufactured she spends a small fortune having it custom made). Since she failed to become a pilot Anatolja has not much ambitions left to work her way up in ranks - not that her chances would have been too good in the first place. Anatolja isn't a very social person who doesn't constantly try to make new friends. She likes to party and drink in a group but keeps relationships on a very basic level. She tries to avoid letting people get close to her in fear of being hurt again (she feels ultimately betrayed by her mother, blaming her to have left her alone when she would have needed her most). Being traumatized for life she can't stand the sight of blood and will freeze in shock when being confronted with large amounts or even faint at the sight of heavily bleeding wounds.

Background:

Anatolja was raised in a suburb of Moscow, Russia, but started to learn english very early so her accent is minimal. Her father was a co-owner of a small cargo airline so she and her brothers basically grew up on a spaceport. Anatolja always wanted to become a pilot like her father and brothers but that dream was shattered when after the plague her mother was tricked into selling her inherited interest in the company. Being already on the verge of insanity after the loss of her husband and sons this led to the mother committing suicide by slitting her wrists right in front of Anatolja's eyes. After being orphaned Anatolja lived with her grandmother, finishing school and later working in a couple of badly payed temp jobs at different space ports (mostly technical assignments). When no other commercial company was willing to fund her training and employ Anatolja as a pilot she joined the Terran Navy. There she got her qualification to operate all kinds of small and medium vessels but ultimately failed her combat training several times which left her with a permission to only perform service flights. Because she didn't want to "drive taxi" for the rest of her life she did the thing she likes next best and went for a technical assignment. Due to her superior results she got an employment in the research division at the Terran Navy Academy, which was quiet an interesting job as she will gladly tell everyone who cares to listen. Although she will always be greatly mysterious about the subject of the research she participated in, giving away no details at all. When her research group was disbanded leaving her without a perspective she was put on board the light carrier TNV "Faithful" as a service technician. She didn't like it too much there, having problems with the stiff atmosphere on board a combat unit, which finally led to her transfer for disciplinary reasons to the TNV "Morrigan" (which is a combat unit, too, of course, but she gets along with her superiors just nicely).
